I made it!  Week 52 complete!  It’s been exciting to see how each week has brought new challenges, and with them, inspirations.  I never would have thought I could complete a project like this without running out of ideas, I’m amazed standing here looking back that I didn’t give up months ago.

In analyzing this project, I think I’ve gained some new insight into the creative process.  I’ve learned how to deal with photographer’s block, I’ve discovered how to make fascinating subjects out of the most mundane objects, and I’ve seen that sometimes the craziest ideas are the ones worth trying.

As a study in black and white, I have seen how light, shadow, and form play a huge part in the creation of an image.  Blinded by the beauty of color for so long, I’ve missed the other equally important aspects of a fantastic image; for though magnificent color has its place, it cannot make up for a lack of good composition, lighting, or story.

All in all, it has been a good challenge and I’m glad I did it.

So, what next?  I feel as though I’ve just reached the end of an amazing journey, and ahead of me lies a door, one that opens to new opportunities, greater discoveries, and many more brain-bending challenges.  I’m not sure what lies on the other side, but I hope to open that door wide.

The future is unknown, and that’s what makes it exciting.

Stay tuned…
