Exploring my grandpa’s shop today and came across some subjects that caught my attention.  Here’s just one of the many fascinating objects that piqued my interest.  This is actually part of a hydraulic press that’s been sitting idle for as long as I can remember.  The lighting for this came through a window immediately behind the subject, which not only served to better highlight the dirt and cobwebs, but also allowed me to utilize a little lensflare to give it a slightly more hazy feel.
I was amazed at how many objects I stumbled upon just walking around looking for subjects to photograph.  Although I’m a big fan of being intentional when it comes to taking pictures, yet there’s great freedom and a lot of new discoveries are made when you just wander around looking for things to photograph.  I’ll definitely have to return to this place for more inspiration.
